Chen Vu is an Associate Clinical Counsellor with MindRight Counselling & Consulting. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Chen has worked with Family Services of the North Shore, Surrey Substance Use Services, and the Klinic Health Center in Manitoba, amongst various other organizations. She has provided counselling and crisis intervention services for those who have had experiences of intimate partner violence, substance use and addiction, trauma, grief and loss, mental health challenges, identity issues, and those who have had difficulties with life transitions and finding one’s purpose.
Chen has extensive training in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy and is deeply rooted in this orientation, in which she believes every individual is worthy and unique in their own potential. Thus, she collaboratively accompanies and guides a client in their journey of self-actualization, while assisting them in discovering a way to live a fulfilling and authentic life with inner consent. Furthermore, Chen integrates CBT and Mindfulness-Based practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy modalities in order to provide a holistic and empowerment-based approach in supporting a client through their blocks and stressors in life.
