Danelle Hussey is an Associate Counsellor at MindRight Counselling & Consulting. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She completed a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology – Art Therapy from Adler University.
Danelle has experience working with Surrey School District, North Vancouver School District, Downtown Community Court, and Burnaby Family Life. Her work involved providing individual art-based counselling to children in school-settings for depressive, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. She also provided art-based group therapy to children in schools and camps, as well as adults in the Downtown East Side. She currently serves as a Youth Counsellor, helping adolescents deal with problematic substance use for Pacific Youth and Family Services.
Danelle works from an Adlerian perspective and draws upon Cognitive-Behavioral, Trauma-Informed, and Narrative approaches as appropriate for the client. She enjoys utilizing art-based modalities to help clients express and process emotions. She conducts sessions in a client-centered, collaborative way to help clients acquire new perspectives and increase self-awareness.
